Sunflower oil

This is probably the one that is most similar to safflower oil, maybe because it’s in the same family of flowers. Sunflower oil is a great source of conjugated linoleic acid, it’s rich in omega-6 fats and also has a high smoke point, making it almost identical to safflower oil. Only according to experts, the conjugated linoleic acid content in safflower oil is purer than in sunflower oil. However, the downside is, if you really have allergies on safflower, there’s a chance that you also have allergies to sunflower.

Wheat germ oil

Also an omega-6 oil, but unlike safflower oil, wheat germ oil is not suitable for cooking. However, you can still use it for salad dressing, in fact, it may taste better than safflower oil when used on salads. The best potential of wheat germ oil is its application for skin care. Some beauty experts are known to use wheat germ oil as a skin lotion due to its rich vitamin E content and nourishing fat.

Borage seed oil

Rarely heard, this is a great skin care ingredient, and its therapeutic properties are quite similar to safflower oil. Just like safflower oil, it also contains linoleic acid that is useful for maintaining the condition of the mature and dry skin, also for regenerating tissue.

Hazelnut oil

Hazelnut oil is also a good source of linoleic acid that is really for skin health. It could balance oily skin without making it too dry. Besides can be used as a skin care oil, it’s also great to be used as cooking oil. In fact, hazelnut oil tastes better when compared to safflower oil according to some people. However, if you prefer your cooking oil to be tasteless, then it’s not for you because hazelnut oil has a nutty taste. It’s great to use for pan-fried and blackened dishes, with high smoke point, it can withstand extreme heat just like safflower oil.

Weight loss properties

If we read again about all the alternative oils, mostly they just can replace the functions of safflower oil in cooking and skin care, but none of them can really replace safflower oil when it comes to helping with weight loss. The closest one would be the sunflower oil, but as explained above, the conjugated linoleic acid or CLA in sunflower oil is much less in quantity and quality when compared to safflower oil.

One of the best safflower oil supplement products is the CLA Safflower Oil, that is so rich in omega-6 and linoleic acid. This supplement has received thousands of positive reviews not only form its users, but also from many different reputed health sites and experts, and even Dr. Oz.

When taken regularly, CLA Safflower Oil could help boost your metabolic rate so your body will actively burn fat for energy. It also helps keep your energy levels high and stimulate your fat burning hormones. It also will suppress your appetite so you can limit your calories intake, and finally, it helps to increase your muscle mass.
