Police have arrested a Heathrow Airport security guard on suspicion of assisting a Colombian drugs cartel to smuggle £700,000 of cocaine into Britain.

The National Crime Agency said the man, a 30-year-old from Southall, west London, was detained alongside a 37-year-old man from Colombia in the Terminal 5 bathroom.

The 37-year-old was en route to Holland from Bogota.

They both went into the airport bathroom and seconds later were busted by police who allegedly found the drugs worth £700,000 in a laptop bag.

A 43-year-old man who is believed to be linked to the smuggling plot was also arrested in the airport arrivals area.

A fourth man, aged 46, was arrested following a search at an address in east London.

All four are being questioned...
