In Zimbabwe, former President Robert Mugabe would retire with a package of nearly 10 million euros. This is what the Zimbabwean press reveals on Sunday, November 26, citing senior officials of Zanu-PF, the ruling party. Under pressure from the streets and the military, Zimbabwe's ex-strongman agreed to step down this week after 37 years of rule. According to a senior official of Zanu-PF, $ 5 million will be paid immediately to former President Robert Mugabe, in addition to a salary of $ 150,000, each year until his death. After his death, Grace, his wife, will receive half of this salary for the rest of her life. In addition to this allowance, the government is committed to paying the medical expenses of the former president, aged 93, as well as his travel expenses abroad. Robert Mugabe travels to Singapore several times a year for treatment. Finally, will be added to this, the costs related to its security, which represents, in all, a " package " valued at $ 10 million. The couple may also continue to reside in their Blue Roof home in Borrowdale, Harare, a $ 25-million 25-room residence. ===>> http://www.sipcypnewsblog.com/2017/11/zimbabwe-robert-mugabes-forced-but-well.html

Zimbabweans have shown leadership skills here. No bloodshed, no quarrel. It seems like they are beyond tribal and religious pettiness, which are huge steps to democracy and civilization. Even though i hate the idea of one leader staying more than a maximum of 8 or 10 years total, these southern African countries are really where the leaders and giants of Africa reside. |
