As a wise farmer in Nigeria and business oriented person, you must be very strategic in the type of crops you want cultivate in each ecological region in Nigeria and also know their comparative advantages. It is also very important to have a concrete knowledge on Animals that survive in each zone.

Are you from the North West Region?
These region consists of the following States :

Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara.

This are the type of vegetation found in the North West region :

Mangroove Swamp Forest, Freshwater Swamp forest, Rainforest, Moist woodland and savanna, Drywoodland savanna, Guinea savanna, Sudan savanna, Mountain grassland and Sahel savanna.

This are the best crops and livestock that do best in your region :

Wheat, Rice, Date Palm, Gum Arabic, Cocoyam, Maize, Onions, Sugar cane, Pulses, Sorghum, Sesame, Millet, Cotton, Mangoes, Irish Potato, Ginger, Cowpea, Pepper, Citrus, Tomato, Cassava, Yam, Groundnut, Vegetables, Cattle, Goats and Sheep, Soya beans.

Are you from the North East Region?
These region consists of the following States :

 Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe.

This are the type of vegetation found in the North East region :

It is recommended by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to venture into these kind of crops and live stock farming :

Wheat, Rice, Maize, Tea, Garlic, Sugar Cane, Sorghum, Cotton, Cowpea, Tomato, Cassava, Cashew, Fruits, Vegetables, Cattle, Small Ruminants, Spices, Soya beans.

For the North Central Region
These region consists of the following States and F.C.T :

Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Niger, Pleateau and Abuja (FCT).

This are the type of vegetation found in the North West region :

Guinea savanna, Drywoodland savanna, moist wodland savanna and Rainforest.

This are the best crops and livestock that do best in your region :

Maize, Sugar cane, Pulses, Sorghum, Sesame, Shea butter, Oil Palm, Cotton, Mangoes, Sweet and Irish potato, Ginger, Cowpea, Citrus, Tomato, Bush Mango, Avocado Pears, Cassava, Yam, Cahsew, Fruits, Vegetables, Cattle, Small Ruminants, Cocoa, Soya beans.

For the South West Region
This zone is also called the Agroecological zone because of their favourable climatic condition and it consists of the following States:

Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo.

The type of Vegetation found in Lagos, and parts of Ogun, Ondo and Osun States are Humid Forest.
