ANTHONY JOSHUA leads the nominations for the 2017 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

The world heavyweight champions is the odds-on favourite to win the award after his victory over Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley in April earned him the WBA and IBO belts to add to his existing IBF title.
Joshua recently defended his IBF title when he faced Carlos Takam at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
The 28-year-old’s fiercest competition, according to the bookies, in the Sports Personality of the Year award vote comes from Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and Tour de France winner Chris Froome.
