Oil giant Shell has a case to answer for its role in human rights violations including murder, rape and torture committed by the Nigerian military government in the 1990s.

The victims were the Ogoni people, whose land has been devastated by pollution from Shell’s operations. When the Ogonis organized in peaceful protest, the Nigerian government unleashed a campaign of appalling violence against them.

This Ogoni debacle is what Shell would like to wish away bt unfortunately it's like a festering sore that has simply refused to go away and it will continue to hunt the company until they pay the right compensations to those entitled to it before a semblance of headway can be made..They didn't know it would turn out like this when they were busy arming certain persons to the detriment of the larger community and riding roughshod over the host community,SHELL must enjoy "the fruit of her labor" which she is honestly entitled to,a very useless and divisive multinational pitting denizens against denizens from time immemorial...
