Common Mysterious Hidden Facts About Human Body by Olawoye4359(m): 12:23pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
We have all been reading some hidden facts article published on different blogs. But looking into this new collections of mysterious hidden but common facts in human body, we will all find it interesting. Some of these collated facts are: 1. A person cannot taste food unless it is mixed with saliva. Yes! Let's look at this way: For example, if strong-tasting substance like salt is placed on a dry tongue, the taste buds will not be able to taste it. As soon as a drop of saliva is added and the salt is dissolved, however, a definite taste sensation results. This is true for all foods. Try it! And this is due to the reason that Chemoreceptors in the taste buds of your tongue require a liquid medium in order for the flavors to bind into the receptor molecules. If you don’t have liquid, you won’t see results. CAN I USE ANY FORM OF LIQUID INSTEAD OF SALIVA?? Technically you can use water for this purpose rather than saliva. However, saliva contains amylase, an enzyme that acts on sugars and other carbohydrates, so without saliva sweet and starchy foods may taste different from what you expect. ! 2.The three smallest bones in your body are all found inside your ear It's mysterious that the three smallest bones in human body are found in the EAR and you would be completely deaf without them!. These three bones are known formally as the MALLEUS, INCUS and STAPES (and informally as the hammer, anvil and stirrup, after their approximate shapes). 3. 8 percent of people have an extra rib. If you just counted your ribs and found that you have 26 of them you are a one in five hundred event. Most people are born with 24 ribs, a dozen on each side of the rib cage. But if you have more you’re a rarity. The extra ribs in humans are known as cervical ribs, or neck ribs. They usually appear, as one of the common names suggest, near the neck. They are caused by a congenital abnormality. But if you thought that extra ribs in humans was freaky, it gets even weirder. In some extremely rare cases a few people have been known to have 2 extra cervical ribs, for a total of 28, or 14 on each side of the chest. And it's also mystery too.
