Thousands of people have took part in a street protest on Saturday for the third time since this week in Lome asking for the resignation of President Faure Gnassinge. The protest has given little progress on promised talks, according to reports. Mr. Gnassingbe has been in power for over 15 years now and has pledged in November that his administration would hold talks with opposition groups “within several weeks”, but has kept quiet since then.
