I'm talking about intellectual gifts here.
Einstein is the picture that comes to mind if you think about genius,at least in mainstream media,he's the iconic image of genius.
He was also slightlyeccentric which
made him a more iconic pick for the post.

Sergey brin and larry page read computer science, hence the founded google.

Steve jobs took a class in calligraphy before dropping out of university (Reed college) and that influenced the design choices of the apple computer immensely. He was also some1 who went by his gut feelings over rationale.

These individual studied in a particular field and as a result of their past studies/work, they influenced their industries.

So, how does God make people excel at their disciplines/career?
Assuming, God gave these men the insights they had.

One, He looks for prepared minds,and gives that mind insights . The most suitable mind is qualified to carry the insight and run with it.
The mind and owner of the mind must have earned the capacity and ability to run with the idea.

Sergey brin and larry page, didnt stop at first degrees, the went beyond that to second and third-they kept on working aiming higher,training their minds further,
then the big break came- outstanding insight!!

Einstein use to sit in his bath for up to 5hrs at a time! doing what? Thinking on physics! He had already bagged his phD. Then what? Insight came!

if the human mind is like a physical muscle,then, working it, strenghtens and expands it, preparing it for the weight of insight it may hold!

So, God doesnt just give things to those who are incapable of sustaining the weight,less they crumble under it.
This means,that glory - levels of excellence in any endeavour - may have the property : weightiness.

The bible says we should make ourselves, vessels of honour - fit for the Master's use.
This verse has been spiritualized to mean only spiritual things only but in the physical world,they're also non physical concerns, God isnt interested in just the spiritual aspects of life only.
Most christians neglect developing themselves in the intellectual/physical dimension, taking those things to be unnecessary - this is misguided thinking. Hence, why most christians are irrelevant to the physical problems of the world as it is and the world views christianity and religion as hogwash.

I believe by being the very best one could be in his field of profession,
one would be obeying with bible verses to that effect and qualifying to receive insights to solutions in those fields.
I also believes God distributes insights to the most qualified minds - born again or not.

He gives gifts unto men.
