Kano State can be likened to the Pearl of the North, a city that is been associated with so many strides ,with proud history ranging from ancient trading routes, groundnut pyramids, top notch Islamic scholars and industry. Kano State is the Northern Nigeria answer to Lagos in the South West and Onitsha in the South East,then Port Harcourt to the Delta creeks. But as it stands today ,Kano seems to be a relic or more of museum with tons of de- industrialisation! Today, the state ranks low in human capacity index ,tilting towards theocratic setups with Sharia reigning supreme and federal government dependency! This is Kano today !
