Yesterday, the youths of Plateau came together under a group called The G17 to present a citizens bill to the state assembly on the issue of open grazing, today, the cattle rearers in the state has issued a press release saying they will not accept ranching talk more of a ban on open grazing in the state, read the press release below

PRESS STATESMEN
Miyyety Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Plateau State chapter
5/12/2017
For immediate release.
It has came to our notice that the Plateau State House of Assembly have received a politically motivated bill, with the name citizen bill seeking for a law banning open grazing in the State, put forward by a group known as G17.
We swiftly react and view the agitations havering for the ban of the open grazing in the State, as contained in the said bill as nothing than trying to incite trouble into the State, that is trying as much as possible to consolidate on the attained relative peace being enjoyed for a longer period of time.
That we are also cinvince that the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which is the supreme law of the land, which guaranteed freedom of movement and the right of citizens to live in any part of the country of their choice and embark on any legal business of their choice without any let, hindrance, restriction or molestation.
The bill has also negate all international, regional and sub-regional laws, conventions, charters and treaties which also guaranteed the above rights including transhuman to all and sandry.
Some of the provisions of the bill are barbaric anti-human and is born out of ethnic and religious sentiments. The bill also pose serious threat, intimidation and harassment against the herders
As Nigerians and people of Plateau State, we will not just stay back to look at trouble makers trample on our fundamental rights, and in this regards we vehemently reject any attempt by the State lawmakers to formulate a harmful law, onto our existence.
Let me categorically make it clear that we will not succumbed to any politically sponsored, "citizen bill," seeking for passage into law to ban open grazing in our state. We understand that the G17 are agitating for the seizure of cattle route, grazing reservers and grazing corridors in the state give it out to farmers, and that we will again not allow it to go unchallenged, we are therefore urging the lawmakers to desists from doing what will pitch the state into avoidable confusion.
Therefore, we are urging the, Plateau State House of Assembly, to shun any agitations havering for the ban of the open grazing in the State.
As peaceful and law abiding citizens, we will continue to not only support the peaceful process, harp on the need to live in pace with one another, but are seriously working in ensuring that all live in peace, we therefore, urge and caution our people not shiver with the ill conceived bill agitating for the ban.
We are against any plan for cattle ranching by the government and as being proposed by the G17, talk less of telling us to buy our land to cave our cattle, we hope our positions are best understood.
Signed:
Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi
State Chairman MACBAN

Reactions have been flooding in as they regarded themselves as "Peace loving people of Plateau and Nigerians"

Plateau youths at the state house yesterday

Lalasticlala

The truth is that Plateau state doesn't have a governor, the present administration of Lalong got there because of the strong presence of tribal politics in the state, the people knew that this confused fool is no where near the Late GNS Pwajok in terms of competency but they voted against GNS simply because Jang who was the outgoing governor was the same tribe as GNS, they felt the Beroms are pushing other minor tribes aside, even the people of bassa were strongly against GNS, now that they are being killed and Lalong is silent, they now know their mistake and are now calling for 2019 to come, the Plateau people are not happy with the government who has been priding itself as the governor that pays salaries, forgetting that salaries is not a privilege but the workers hard-earned money, aside that, he has absolutely no other achievement, the Plateau people have even nicknamed him "Governor Alert", he has refused to sign the anti-grazing bill for months now because he is trying to please the Hausa fulanis in the state so they can favour him in the next elections, forgetting the plight of the Plateau people, that was why the Plateau youths had to take the bull by the horn and submit the bill themselves, I cry for the future of Plateau if this man is not sent parking.

The owners of Nigeria have spoken, they will not accept it.

The whole Nigeria is their grazing field.

Their cows can eat your crops, it's their right.

They can carry AK47,they 'own' the makers of the law.

All citizens are equal but Fulanis are more equal than others.

THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN MUST SET FORTH AT DAWN

Lol these guys are clowns. Your freedom of movement isn't the issue. Cattle can be transported. The law says you can grazing them within the state. That doesn't violate any law since land use says all the government land is owned by state. Lastly the state has right to regulate businesses.

You don't need to ask. many are rearing it in the North. Pork is also being sold in the open. The North is very diverse and very big.

peaceful negotiations and diplomacy is alien to Fulanis. always threatening, if the Fulani's aren't careful they might become extinct in the next 30 years.
