ovoP: How many? Let's count. What is their capacity? How modern are they? Are they working? If YES, at what % capacity? Do you know Lagos alone will soon have two refineries? One of them will be the largest in all africa. 4 Likes |

I must acknowledge the fact that our southwest brothers are moving at a faster pace than any other region but what I don't understand,is the joy most of them derive in bringing SE into their news even when its not necessary. |

muller101:nah, it would only increase in demand. Have you given a thought to the myriads of things you can use the by-products of crude oil for? Laptops screens, artificial hairs and nails, comfor, candle wax, paints, palstics, nylon clothes, fertilizers, shoes, polish and what about cooking gas? Man, the usefulness of crude oil is too much. We need it forever. Conspirators are using it to move peoples attention away from it. |

Ayemileto: Bros, don't let them sell bullshit to us. Have you read the stories of these developed countries? They over destroyed the climate. Again, they used cheap fossil fuel to develop themselves; economically, technologically, socially etc. If they are so concerned about the dangers of fossil fuels ad energy sources, they should use their money to setup renewable energy plants here. Many people are so ignorant to know that renewable energy is subsidized by governments of those developed countries. Can Nigerian government undertake such at this point ? Do you even know that US government pays a subsidy of about $7000 on every electric car bought by its citizens to Tesla and other electric cars manufacturer? No I bet you don't. Look, we will not let any ill motive organisation (world bank, IMF , Paris agreement etc) to keep Nigeria in perpetual debt and quagmire. We will utilise what the resources that are readily available and cheap and use it to uplift our lives. We can be wiser though, by adopting cleaner and efficient combustion techniques for our fossil fuels. We can adopt newer methods of carbon capture and sequestration in our refineries and power plants. But buying that bull shit that Europe, China will stop petrol cars is a slap to us. Do you even know how China got to this their present economic and technological state? Renewables did not make electricity in China cheap. It is the profits and savings they made from fossil fuels over the years that they are now using to subsidize renewables . 3 Likes |

bellyjean:Ayemileto: : Bros, I clap for you 50x for this submission. We need to start thinking of our development in our own way, using our own resources and maximising opportunities provided by technology. We must not sheepishly be dancing to the tune of the west all the time. We have resources (oil and solid minerials) locked underground and we do not want to explore and exploit it. @Ayemileto, Refineries have many direct and indirect end products apart from petrol. Petrochemicals for example is a huge business globally and there is a nexus between Refineries, Gas Plants and Petrochemical Plants. This is one green area we need to rapidly exploit and make so much money. Gas vlaue-cjh is another area we have not fully developed. We are only scratching the surface.... |

you will never hear development or foresight like this from bayesa state & niger delta instead the ijaw demons will use militancy, violence & land grabbing wahala to chase away the investors. Those people are cursed. Na their fellow south brother them get power but north/west simply use pipe to draw the oil in your region & Lagos/Abuja is well represented in naija. These are your real enemies but you are very scared to dare them Gradually Ogun is turning Lagos & you will shamelessly start claiming it as your ancestral land & that the real owners came from Egypt & Mecca. Niger Delta people, continue sleeping & let your enemies keep using you to fight & divide you. Ask your leaders to wake up & stop the greed which you militants are a partaker of. 2 Likes |
