 Contract Position
 Duration: 3 Years

INTRODUCTION
Akermas Energy is an indigenous company incorporated to deliver value added services to her clients. We aim at providing engineering and integrated solutions in developing new facilities, and highly conversant with classification rules & other standards and codes for Oil and Gas.

JOB SUMMARY
An excellent painter is knowledgeable in selecting the right material for their job. They have experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. They must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. The handiwork of painters surrounds us at every turn. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
 Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
 Select and buy paint from vendors.
 Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
 Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
 Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster).
 Protect all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures and landscaping.
 Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture
 Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
 Apply varnish and other finishes.
 Practice self-supervision on small jobs and ensure you complete each project in an efficient, timely manner.
 Calculate costs and negotiate prices.
 Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, and able to demonstrate a positive attitude towards safety in the workplace. A Painter's critical tasks include:
 The ability to understand and give written and oral orders.
 Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
 Proven experience as a painter
 Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
 Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
 Good basic math skills
 Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
 Conscientious with great attention to detail.
 Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
 Ability to complete projects on-time and on-budget.
 Excellent technical knowledge
 Team Spirit;
 Excellent communication and presentation skills.
