I am still ashame that APC still doesn't know what a Unity list is.

When the PDP regional Caucuses were meeting, they didn't leave the comfort of their homes for an Owambe, they were meeting for something very serious and important. They were meeting to make sure that best people with the right experience will be elected at the Convention to the lead the Party.

So Unity List is equivalent to consensus candidate. When the consensus candidates are so many that it will be difficult to remember them all, you put their names on a list. That list is called Unity List.

When SW Caucus adopted Prof as consensus candidate, they went round the convention informing the delegates of the new development. Since Prof. is just a person there was no need to draft a Unity List, since the delegates can easily recall that name.

The election was free and fair, people voted according to party interest. No candidate was imposed but rather delegates voted based on prior meetings before the convention.

Even the 116 SW delegates that refused to vote for Prof. decided to abide by earlier agreements in the interest of the Party.

In summary, a Unity List is a list of all consensus candidates endorsed before the Convention.

NEXT:
The Region without Political Clout.
This will use Presidential statistics from 2011 to analyse Political Clout and Sophistication within the Southern Nigeria. It has become necessary to dispel certain misconceptions. But to give you a tip:
* Jonathan would still have won 2011 election, even if entire SW gave all their votes to Buhari (CPC).

*. Buhari would still have won in 2015, even if SW APC refused to vote at all, or decided to give all their votes to Jonathan.

* If SE/SS had voted the way they did in 2011 while other regions voted the way they did in 2015, instead of beating Buhari with 10 million votes like he did in 2011, he would beaten him in 2015 with 1352464 votes.

* SW has the lowest election turn out in the country since 2011.

Stay Tuned.
