How medical students can gain admission using JUPEB and IJMB


JUPEB which stands for Joint University Preliminary Examination Board is a program moderated by University of Lagos to create an alternative avenue for students to seek admission into universities and gain entry into 200 level with preferred course without jamb.

Duration
The duration of the programme runs for a minimum period of 2 semesters, that is 10 months in total. Lectures start between September till June. JUPEB examinations takes place nationwide every June.

Eligibility
- Each candidate must register, sit for Examinations and satisfy the Board of three subjects (biology, chemistry and physics) and General Studies course relevant to the proposed course in any of the universities.

- Each candidate must be able to obtain a minimum of 13 points out of 16 points.

IJMB which stands for Interim Joint Matriculation Board is a federal government program moderated by Ahmadu Bella University (ABU) in Zaria designed as an alternative means of gaining admission into tertiary institutions and gain entry into 200 level without jamb.

Duration
The duration of the programme runs for a period of 2 semesters, that is 9 months in total. The examination is held once a year every February.

Eligibility
- Each candidate must register, sit for Examinations and satisfy the Board of three subjects (biology, chemistry and physics) and General Studies course relevant to the proposed course in any of the universities.

- Each candidate must be able to obtain a minimum of 13 points out of 16 points.
