Greetings to all Nigerians reading this message.

This message was written to address the situation of the country and not to seek attention.
I really hope this gets to front page.

I’m concerned that we are all satisfied with the position of Nigeria being among the list of developing countries in the world. If you are all satisfied, am not because I believe that we have what it takes to get this country to the next level. We have what most countries don’t have.

This year 2017 has come and gone, the only achievement I realized we have obtained from this year is distraction from social media. Social media successfully distracted us with ease from seeing the real problems in reality. This is my first time doing something publicly as I have always being referred to as an introvert.

I would want to believe that it is only people in the entertainment industry that made success this year because people in the entertainment industry understood that Nigerians are suffering and they need to be comforted and they succeeded in using their smartness in making it by giving us comfort in music and comedy.

Prove me wrong if I’m incorrect, let’s use my favourite comedian (AY) as a case study. We all know his success is rising fast in the comedy world because he is using his passion to make money. Nigerians are not happy, he found a way to make us happy by producing comedy shows and even those really adorable comedies like 30days in Atlanta… Everyone loved it including me.

He found out his plan was working, produced other ones, now there is Accidental spy which I haven’t seen yet....lol. Comedy is doing the distraction job very well and that is why there are so many comedians on instagram, the best way to gain followers is upload funny stuffs or become a social media comedian.

This is like taking a pill to numb the pain and sadness but the question is, After all the comedy, the new music competition between Wizkid and Davido every month… when you are done listening you still have to go back to the existing problem which has never been solved.
We are all waiting for the government to act, you see people speaking opinions on channels TV and other TV news, everyone talking … On Facebook you see Biafra and a Nigerian man exchanging insults over a man they worship like God.

You see whistle blowers looking for whistle to blow, some Nigerians saying the government is spending their money when they don’t have a TIN no than to talk about paying tax.
The year is over and a new one is coming, it is time for us to do something for our country so all know that we did our part and didn’t leave it all to the government.
On abokifx business news section, I was reading about the special adviser to Mr. President on trade saying FG is not obligated to finding Jobs for Nigerians as their role is creating a business friendly environment for citizen to thrive on. Even if people will disagree, I fully agree. If they have to find Jobs for every unemployed ones, how many Jobs will they find? They can’t get jobs for all. We are putting so much pressure on the government and having too much expectations from them which is not right. Nigeria depends on oil to sustain the economy, from that money they will build infrastructures, they will build schools and hospitals, they will provide employment, and they will still pay salaries to people they employed. How do you expect the country to grow with such pressure Don’t forget Nigeria has borrowed debts to pay.

How about we leave the public sector and concentrate on the private sector. We should not forget that the private sector is the driver of the economy. We all know Dangote, he is one of the greatest entrepreneur who has provided jobs to thousands across Africa. Can you image how Nigeria and Africa will grow if they are thousands of Dangotes in Nigeria? There will be employment, the economy will be booming, circulation of money, affordable price of stuffs as there will be competition between rival businesses and companies.

Stop looking for employment because it is almost fading. Companies are dropping off more workers and recruiting few people who will want to accept any price because they are desperate for work. Let’s not forget, with the development of the technology industry, more people will lose their jobs as technology will take over people’s jobs especially the IT world am sure those recently dropped konga staffs can say yes to that. I saw that coming when I saw that instagram, Facebook and twitter has started their sponsored ad marketing and I know it is time many marketers will lose their jobs and computer will do their jobs for them as every business man want to spend less on expenses and labour and expect high profit.

Most of these oil companies you see, e.g Shell, they don’t work as they are only involved with more of management and supervisions, the main jobs are done by contractors and these contractors are also called entrepreneurs. So stop looking for employment from them, rather be a contractor (entrepreneur) and bid for their jobs.
Let’s not leave all the jobs to the government, lets assist in our own little way so we can tell our grandkids we joined hands to make Nigeria great. Look at most developed countries in the world, it is the private sectors that drives the economy.

For example let’s take U.S.A as a case study. We all want Nigeria to be like U.S.A but we don’t want to know how they did it. U.S.A has so many entrepreneurs especially in the tech industries. Companies like Macdonald, Uber, ExxonMobil, Amazon, Facebook, Google, etc. There are so many of them. These companies are mostly owned by young entrepreneurs and private, not government properties. They all started small and grew big. They make lots of money and as you all know, all working citizens of America pay tax, these tax are used to develop the country.
Now if we the private sector are doing our own thing, we would care less about what is going on with the government because we are doing our own thing. Imagine if we have Facebook, Uber, Google, macdonald, Netflix, etc in Nigeria If these companies are created in Nigeria, Can you try to imagine how much employment will be created? Can you imagine the competition between companies and inflation of products will be a thing of the past.

Government has made entrepreneurial studies compulsory in all schools and the reason is simply because they are trying to build minds that thinks like I do, people that think entrepreneurially.
For some people who will say they have ideas but no funds to sponsor it, now this is where the government should come in. They should help by creating competitions or something to help people win funds to start their ideas.

I stopped going to master classes and events because they always tell me what I already know. All they do is motivational talks and just basic stuffs. Some of these master classes just want to make money, they go to the internet, read stuffs for free and ask you to pay to attend their class. Now to me that is called hustling and not entrepreneurship. They don’t really give you detailed information about things like they don’t want you to be successful more than them, they want you to be there. Ok now you attend the event, what happens after the event, you create ideas in our head and we can do more because we don’t have the funds to start by turning our ideas into reality.

Motivational speeches are scam to me, I don’t even like to hear it , it is more like drinking alcohol to make you forget you have a problem but it doesn’t fix the problem.
Not everyone who think they are entrepreneurs are correct, some are hustlers and some are freelancers. An entrepreneur creates a brand, employ people (creating employment) and develop their brand, and they don’t work. A hustler just want to make money while a freelancer is one who work for himself. He uses his time and skills to render services for people in exchange for income. An entrepreneur can be called a hustler but a hustler can’t be called and entrepreneur so if you tag yourself as an entrepreneur, you should check yourself again.

Freelancing should be a great foundation path way to the entrepreneurial world. I say this because with freelancing, you can use your talents, your skills, and your passion to offer different services to different clients. As you do so,
• you make more money,
• save funds for your next big project,
• get clients (networking and brand awareness)
• check yourself and find your niche (what you do best),
• build your brand( business creation)
• develop your brand
AND FINALLY YOU ARE AN ENTREPRENEUR

Some Nigerians don’t understand the relevance of the internet to us. With internet, we can turn the country from worst to good.
Most bloggers and social media experts with lots of followers don’t know what to do with their blogs and pages. Most use their influences to promote celebrities, people who are already famous and popular. They are hidden talents in Nigeria that needs to be brought to the spot lights but they prefer to promote bob risky for free and other viral contents that won’t add values to our lives.
When you have something meaningful to post, they charge you a lot to promote it but they promote rubbish for free like people twerking, someone eating, someone doing something crazy.

I recently created a freelance website for local freelancers, I contacted few ig celebrities to sponsor my page, some want higher than my budget requesting from 50k up, some asking me to send nude pictures of me, one Nollywood celebrity asking if I will be available to meet when he comes to my state. If i have an online mass audience, i will celebrate and promote talented Nigerians.

Then after someone will insult a prostitute who is trying to make money by sleeping with me. If you ask me, I don’t blame them because most of these girls have talents and handwork but the only kind of services to render available to them is sex from guys. Nowadays, guys can’t give a girl money unless he has sex with her. A guy spends on a girl and want sex back in return so now who is the cause?
For all my fellow Nigerians who are willing to make Nigeria great by starting from somewhere, there is a new freelance community. When I said freelance, I don’t only mean online works. A freelance is anyone who will use his time and skills to work for income without being under anyone whether online or local work.

The name of the community is Afrofreelancers Hub. This is a community to connect workers of any kind to different skills to different clients who need services. There so many unemployed people in Nigeria, Most of them were dropped off work. Use this website to grow your business by finding clients. Companies ain’t recruiting anymore, they prefer working with contractors who are still entrepreneurs. They say if life give you lemon, make lemonade out of it. The government have made entrepreneurship studies compulsory, let’s use to our advantage. Instead of employment, let’s start looking for jobs.

Government please create a special body or agencies that will promote entrepreneurship because Nigerians are motivated by challenges and goal. Just like entertainment industries have different awards sponsors, there should be different award sponsoring agencies to support growth of entrepreneurship in Nigeria like
• Best student entrepreneur,
• Best young entrepreneur
• Best female entrepreneur
• Best tech entrepreneur
• Best male entrepreneur
• Best fashion entrepreneur
• Best agricultural entrepreneur
• Best entrepreneurial partners, etc.,

So people will look forward to winning award at the end of the year just like how celebrities look forward to awards and the ones not successful will work harder for next year award. It will help. Then people will start creating ideas even before they graduate from the university.

Afro-freelancers want to help to bring out the hidden talents and bring them to the spot light and allow their work speak for them rather than connection. Use afro-freelancer hub to develop the agricultural industries by connecting local farm works with food producing companies.

Police don’t have collect 100naira on the road every time, they can use the security and escort job section to connect with rich men and organization that need escorts and security. There is also a personal investigator job section (P.I) they can find clients that need confidential information.
Finding jewelry and gem stone dealers are kind of hard to find, you can use the jewelry section to promote your business.
I know people who studied psychology in school and can’t work with their degree, there is a job section, use to your advantage.
Repairs and installation section available, use to your advantage.
Companies, if you are reading this, you can play your own part by sourcing for temporary or contract workers through the website, they are over 600 registered freelancers waiting to work.
This is not only for companies, individuals with personal tasks like home service hair styling, wall painting, flooring, etc. Sex is not the only skill we ladies have, there are other things we are capable of. Celebrities, sending money to fans won’t solve the problem because the money will get finished and they will need more. Please if you have jobs, find available workers waiting to be hired at;

www.afro-freelancers.com.

Use Afro-freelancers to make money and save money to turn your ideas into reality. There are so many programmers and web designers on nairaland. The top companies in the world is from the tech industry, e.g. Microsoft own by Bill gates and Paul Allen. You can come together and do better. Tech is taking over the world. Nigeria need a form of database to identify citizens, BVN isn’t doing the job because not everyone has a bank account. That is a project idea in my head, been there for about a month now.

In conclusion, let’s see Nigeria as a church. Church members are loyal to their church and they pay tithe and offerings and these money are used to develop the church, Pastors don’t spend on the church, it is the congregation that spends via offerings, tithes and donations. Same applies to the country.
Embrace entrepreneurship, Freelance to find your niche and meet clients, save money to start your brand, develop your idea and turn it into reality. Start small and work your way up. It is hard to find a rich man that is an employee. Most rich men are all entrepreneurs. Grow big, create employment and mentorship to aspirants and pay your tax so your government can use these tax to turn Nigeria from the developing African country to a developed African country.

Use shell as an inspiration, Shell started in London in the 19s when Samuel family sold sea shells in a small shop and today it has given millions of people jobs across the universe. Let’s create more private companies, more that there will be competitions among companies which will deflate price of goods. Example. Telecommunication, when it was just only mtn, price of sim card was so expensive, call rate was very high and today look, there is more than one communication companies and sim card is almost free and u can spend kobos for calls. We still need more internet companies to make internet cheap. With lots of private companies being created, each companies connect with each other by working with each other, contracts, partnership, etc there will be circulation of money, jobs, creation of employment, networking, Stability of naira exchange rate, etc. Youth if we want the government to consider us in getting involved with politics, let’s show them that we have something to bring to the table and we are not after Nigeria’s money.
I hope I’m able to make a point.

Compliment of the season

Waiting is actually the problem...all these years we have been waiting...what have we achieved? At least buhari has been able to start the fight... All government 's money have been channelled to one account... That is a start... But we should do something and stop... waiting. A 30yrs old man is not successful and not man enough to settle down with a family because he can't care for a family yet.. That is shame to me. Now am speaking from experience

Wow this is a nice write-up
I will be glad if we Nigerians will acknowledge our problem and try to see how we can play our roles in #nation building because the government isn't the only way for success.
