The New Market along the busy Douglas Road, Owerri, Imo State, has been set on fire on Wednesday night. The market was said to have been set on fire by some unknown person. This happened hours after the traders foiled the Governor’s attempt to demolish the market. The Governor had given the traders Friday, 15 December, 2017 to vacate the market in line with his claimed urban renewal programme.
