i wonder how u didn't understand the "Shall be added unto you" part... Why den do u preach d devil's message of poor Christianity wen Jesus had promised dat those things will definitely be Added(not subtracted) undecided

You see... like I said. Why do you have to term 'everything else' as earthly riches? Everything else in this context means.. the divine/heavenly blessings needed to live a Christ-like life NOT, riches. Again, see it as it suites you. The Devil is so 'crafty' that he uses 'these' ways as a trick for many Christians. Christians that chose to walk the 'Broad way' (Daddy G.O.s, sinners et al..) where everybody else trudge...leads to destruction and hell.
As a Christian, I'm dead to this world (As Moses gave up being an Egyptian Prince to become a Shepard, Paul gave up being a Lawyer to die in prison, John the Baptist gave up his mom's wealth to live in the wilderness.... even Jesus and many more) and nothing NOT, even earthly riches, Private Jets, whatsoever can sway me from walking the narrow path...A path for the very few devoid of all mundane things of this world.

People who take giving in church on their head are mostly people who have not achieved anything meaningful in life people who are responsible give to less privilege around them and them contribute to the development and growth of church has instructed in the Bible

I know i r trying to sound spiritual but its still false doctrine. Its born out of ur human reasoning not out of scriptures. U equate poverty with piety but one can still be poor and end up in hell. One can be rich and get to heaven. In fact Abraham wasn't just rich but very rich.. David wasn't poor, Solomon wasn't (he was tge richest king in his time)...

Pictures are amazing. They remind us what great things God has done. And how he can make small things suddenly blossom.

It doesn't take God anything to blossom whatever he has called you to do. Be it ministry, business or whatever. He is always faithful and if you trust him enough he would take you to heights not attained

Look at Adeboye's wonderful and cheerful smile. You could tell he loved doing this! So love doing whatever you find yourself doing no matter how small it is!

Let me address this your two arguments.

For your first argument,i believe you know the story of the widow who had only one mite and used it to pay her tithes and Jesus praised her,i have never heard any pastor say that tithing is by force it's done voluntarily and people give freely according to what they have and there is no discrimination if you pay huge tithes or small tithes...so I don't understand whats your deal

For your second argument, unless you don't live in Nigeria before you can be excused for playing dumb that you have never heard of the humanitarian works churches do,e.g building of boreholes and free medical checkups...so don't just bring that argument.

If u r not biased u would have seen were I said ....if dey r giving back, are they giving enough??.....a church that's given enuf back would not have d money to buy and maintain 4jets.......d money used to maintain 3 of those jets and d money used to purchase, if it was given back to d society or for charity, do u know how many pple a smile would be put on their faces.

Don't be hypocritical, I am a Catholic and d catholic church itself has been monetized, it is our duty to call these guys back to order by telling them their wrongs

Why single out tithe is not dat u are so jealous dat even though u don't collect tithe, ur church is still scanty hence u rather stay on Nairaland nd hate every successful pastor
funny how ppl argue lately, u point out a wrong with factual evidences, they'll then accuse you of hate or bigotry as their own defense. Chai, are we really getting smarter? We, who hv been given the opportunity to live in the age of great Enlightenment, we cn even muster a reasonable argument to support our actions

Unless there is a scriptural reference which states clearly NOT TO TITHE then keep quiet. The last we heard of Tithe, Jesus commended the practice!

As it is, there is Scriptural evidence from Abraham, Moses and Jesus to TITHE but there is not one single verse that says DON'T TITHE. Jesus even though living during the era of the Law corrected all he needed to correct but never talked down on the Tithe. Don't make assumptions for God, DON'T TITHE cannot be proved from scripture hence you can't call anyone who preaches tithing criminal.

I repeat Tithing is Scriptural from Abraham to Jesus. To say it is no longer scriptural would require you to bring proofs from scripture where it is explicitly said that DON'T TITHE. If you can't find that scripture then you are a liar and you are manipulating the word of God.

you won my heart.

During the lifetime of Jesus, the holy temple in Jerusalem was the center of Jewish religious life.
The temple was the place where animal sacrifices were carried out and worship according to the Law of Moses followed faithfully.
Hebrews 9:1-9 tells us that in the temple a veil separated the Holy of Holies—the earthly dwelling place of God’s presence—from the rest of the temple where men dwelt. This signified that man was separated from God by sin (Isa 59
Only the high priest was permitted to pass beyond this veil once each year (Exo 30; Heb 9smiley to enter into God's presence for all of Israel and make atonement for their sins (Lev16)

. If you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.”John 5..,,,,Moses wrote about Christ.,,,Jesus came to fulfill all that was written in the Law and the Prophets. All of it was pointing to him
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.mat 5

What significance does this torn veil have for us today? the moment Jesus died

1.When Jesus died, the veil was torn, and God moved out of that place never again to dwell in a temple made with hands (Acts 17:24). God was done with that temple and its religious system, and the temple and Jerusalem were left “desolate luk 13<35

2, the veil was symbolic of Christ Himself as the only way to the Father (John 14:6). This is indicated by the fact that the high priest had to enter the Holy of Holies through the veil. Now Christ is our superior High Priest,,,We can now enter the Holy of Holies through Him
The veil in the temple was a constant reminder that sin renders humanity unfit for the presence of God.The priesthood that stood between worshiper and God has ceased. Hebrews 7:23–24,

3 The blood sacrifices ceased because Christ fulfilled all that they were pointing toward. He was the final, unrepeatable sacrifice for sins.Heb 9 "He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.”

4 The physical temple has ceased to be the geographic center of worship. Now, Christ himself is the center of worship. He is the “temple” where we meet God. Therefore, Christianity has no geographic center, no Mecca, no Jerusalem. John 4:21, 23, “Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. . . . But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshippers will wworship the Father in spirit and truth.’”

5 John 2:19, 21, “‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ . . . Jesus was speaking about the temple of his body.” Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered in my [Jesus’s] name, there am I among them.”

The people of God are no longer a unified political body or an ethnic group or a nation-state. Eph 2<14Paul is speaking about how the Gentiles, who were called the uncircumcision , were separated from Chris (v. 12) but have now been brought near (to God) by the blood of Christ (v. 13). established justification by faith, and thereby united both Jew and Gentile into one group in Christ.

6
Believers are blessed people ... once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.1 Peter 2:9-10 . Royal priesthood .. am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
7

All believer must abide by the law of Christ
>Jesus exercises an authority to which men are expected to comply > .Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2). Paul acknowledged that he was “under law to Christ” (1 Cor. 9:21). "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23 gives us the consequences of sin... But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Holiness Living a holy life and submission the law of the spirit.

“law of the Spirit” is the same as the gospel, the new covenant system.
