Yesterday, A High Court sitting at Ilesha delivered a judgement on a suit filed by a human right activist challenging the change of name from "Osun State" to "State of Osun" by Ogbeni Aregbesola.

The judge didn't just invalidate the name but also chided Gov Aregbesola for acting like a sole administrator or perhaps a dictator in the process.

Ogbeni woke up one day around 2011 and decides to change the name just like he did when we attended Com Ayotunde Israel and Com Ibrahim Muideen Mayowa convocation. Ogbeni in his usual manner changed all the names of the state institutions and award to them- names of different politicians ranging from Bola Ige to Isiaka Adeleke.

When he changed the state name and begin to re-brand every state apparatus and equipment, I argued it was not just baseless but as well needless.

However, the State Attorney General "Acting Gov" Ajibola Bashiru has vowed to appeal the case and for once I wish He win at the appellate. For once I wish the judge ignore the Law and see the evil the judgement will avail on us. I wish the judge will abscond facts and choose Moralilty instead but then Morality is not Legality because between State of Osun and Osun State lies a viable opportunity to loot public funds.

In 2014, when Mr. Peter Fayose came on board, he had massively and heavily criticized Ex Gov Fayemi for building a Government house while the people wallow in abject poverty.
Then came the swearing in ceremony, Ogbeni Peter in his usual Populism manner announced the appointment of Commissioner for Stomach Infrastructure, although, that made the headline of the event, what caught my attention was his announcement on same day that the Govt house built by Fayemi belongs to all Ekitis and the gate will be left open at all times, and in fact they should troop in to celebrate with him.
To some it was a welcome development, then, everyone thought he was just displaying his usual populism not knowing their's a sinister agenda.

Days later, Ogbeni Peter announced that Ekitis who came to the Govt house had defecated the whole place and destroy some equipments, he further claimed a newly built Govt house needs retouch.
In short, Gov Peteru awarded a contract worth #200m to his sister's company.

Such is the plight of the common man in the hands of this looters we called leaders.

If in turn, Ajibola Bashiru lose his appeal, a massive amount of money will be set aside for "re-re-branding" the state from State of Osun to Osun State.
The vehicles, the files, the emblem, all you can think of will needs repainting and recustomization.

Between State of Osun and Osun State lyes a great opportunity to loot public funds.
