5 Affordable but Cute African Hairstyles For This December. by vivaAfrica: 1:47am On Dec 17, 2017 |
December is regarded as the month of festivities, for most ladies, it becomes a period when decisions on a whole lots of things are hard to make; Dresses to buy, hair to make, shoes etc. This period they tend to surf the web just to find out what is trendy and at same time suite their fashion taste. Looking to make a bold statement with a hairstyle that will blow people’s mind off once they see you or make you slay this December? Then check out these five African pocket friendly hairstyles that we listed below to make your hair game grade “A” this December. 1. FULANI-GHANA BRAIDS The Fulanis are known for their beauty and this hairstyle is attributed to them. The beauty is not just in the braids which take different designs but it also lies in the finishing, don’t forget the two braids falling downwards at the front. Well adorned with beads, making the wearer look more attractive than the usual Ghana weaving hairstyle. It’s believed to fit those with an oval-shaped face but girl, if you love the hair just rock the hair. It goes for everyone. Hmmmm..... am thinking of slaying on this hair this December. What do you think? 2. CROCHET TWIST Looks heavy right? Not in anyway. Crochet twists are very light and beautiful when you rock them well. It most especially suites the harmattan weather because of its almost woolly nature; short, long or even the fringe type. Try using the iron beads to bring out the rascal nature of it. Using hot water on it leaves it with a curly texture and untwisting the twist makes you get that curly weave-on look. 3. BOX BRAIDS. Africa’s Oldest and most common you might say but the beauty of box braids to me can never be overlooked. It tends to have much sauce as time goes by. Be it tiny or big braids, Africans in their creative nature have evolved the braids over the years to a trendy style by packing it in different patterns, as you can see from the pictures. It’s simple but attractive if well braided and styled. 4. FAUX LOCKS WITH BRAZILIAN WOOL Faux means imitation of something or idea therefore is an imitation of the dreadlocks which is the natural locs. This can be done using Brazilian wool or other wool types. It gives one that reggae look complementing it with the iron beads is not a bad idea. It suits all occasions and it’s lighter than it looks. The wool comes in different colours to suite every skin color. Faux locs is bae and the longer you carry it, the more the beauty of it is portrayed. With wigs in vogue, have you thought of making a faux locs wig? Could it be possible? I guess it’s worth the try 5. KINKY LOOSE BRAIDS Looking at this hair reminds of an actress that had this signature look. Dakore Egbuson. I fell in love with this hair because of her. This is a different style of kinky because it’s not braided tightly making it look somewhat like a weave-on. Maintaining the curls is not a problem once you dab in hot water and fix onto rollers. The older it gets, the more you will want to keep it on. This is my best option for this coming Christmas. Ready to slay? Then let’s do this.
