The Kogi State Government says it has commenced payment of five months outstanding salary to civil servants in the state.

The Commissioner of Finance, Asiwaju Idris Asiru made the announcement in a press release around the late hours of Thursday, apologizing to aggrieved workers for the delay in payment and the attendant consequences.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner added that they could only pay 60% salary across board, with hope to improve henceforth.
“Regrettably, we are only able to pay 60% salary across board. It is the sincere hope of government that through our aggressive drive to increase internally generated revenue, the fortunes of civil servants and all citizens will improve,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello had stated that he has received about N16bn, an amount he assured was enough to foot the arrears across boards before 2018.

What a hrtless governor. I've never hard of govt paying 6% salary.
