Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Wednesday led a delegation to Ibi LGA of Taraba State to pay a condolence visit to the former Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon Isiaka Bawa, who lost his mother, Hajiya Hadiza, recently.

In the accompanying pictures, the Governor and his convoy were ferried across River Benue into Ibi town on boats. One of the pictures show Tambuwal peeping through his car window and his car gets set for the dangerous 30-minute cruise across the river.
 
A promise to construct a bridge across the river into the town has not materialised in 50 years.

Hmmm....he went to pay a short visit....aren't there vehicles on the other side?....or is it he must make a splash?...impress the natives...give them the golden opportunity of seeing with their own eyes and touching with their own hands his ehmm.... common luxurious SUV. Maybe that's the real reason for him going there.

It takes 30 minutes to cross this river and you're saying its a small river? I have crossed the river so many times, it might take up to an hour in rainy season

Economically, ferry services will be more profitable to the locals than bridge. That's where most of the locals get their livelihood from.

I've crossed once on my way to taraba from plateau, it was a nice ride
