Is Christmas Tree Necessary For Christmas In Africa?? by ednited(f): 7:19am On Jan 01, 2018
When our ancestors do things, they have reasons. I dare to say that they were very reasonable, but these days, we just do things cuz we feel like it. Christmas tree in the states is used for their own reason but could any one here give me a reason why we use it here in Africa? MEANING LESS!

If it indicates where Jesus was born. . .that's fair. . .but who knows the reason behind? Why do we have the Santa hat?? Is there an African Santa Claus?? Am so lost, generation after generation . . .we teach the kids about Santa and blame them for falling in love with foreign culture. Shockingly, just found out that Addis Ababa spent 5 million ETB with in 5 years for Christmas trees. (From USA). Every one say this ain't right, but they keep on doing it. Now everyone feels like it is Christmas only when they see the tree or Santa. We must develop our culture from now and we must feel like it's Christmas in the African way.

Good day

True. I also believe we shouldn't allow our culture from being whitewash. Africa is rich, very rich actually.
