I and my brother have been arguing over this for a long time and I was saying water is wet and later understood that water is not wet.

To be wet means to be saturated with water.
Water can only wet things but water on its own isn't wet.
When water comes in contact with a dry surface that's when you say that thing is wet. Anything wet can get dry, if a towel is wet and its under the sun, it will get dry. But you can't dry water, when there's heat water gets evaporated not dry. So if someone asks you this question, the simple answer is(ONLY DRY THINGS GET WET, SINCE WATER ISN'T DRY THEN ITS NOT WET)
If you disagree with me please drop a proof

I swear, you need to chop belleful to decipher this you and your brother philosophical argument.

Well, logically, I haven't heared anybody says water in their natural state is wet but a close contact with a dry substance. But however, water could be in solid, liquid, gaseouse form which makes is fluid. So in conclusion.

Water remains water in its natural state till it meets its solute to form a reaction.

No no no.....fire and water r different things....fire is just hot, water can be hot or cold.
Fire is hot is just like saying a cold water is cold.
Water is wet is just like saying fire burns. Fire can't burn except it comes in contact with something. You don't expect fire to burn fire na.
