It is not in the governor's ability to make such appointment. He can only influence, if he belongs to the party. I lived in Kebbi State for good 20 years, i schooled in Sokoto for 4years, now listen, let me tell you what you don't know.

We have over 9% Christian Indigine in Sokoto state.
In Kebbi State there are over 30% Indigenous Christian
In Katsina State there are 19% Indigenous Christian
In Kano, yes read it very well Kano State have more 5% Indigenous Christian (Even my next door neighbour just married a lady from kano state that is a Christian (I followed him to her village for their traditional 100% Hausa traditional marriage).

I wouldn't want to mention states like Bauchi, Niger, Nasarawa, e.t.c.
