A Nigerian man identified as Augustine Otuokwa Ogar has constructed a hydro-electric power plant that would generate electricity for the people in his community. The 32-year-old man constructed a 200 megawatts mini hydroelectric power plant.

Ogar who is a graduate of electronic and computer technology built the power plant in Boki local government area, Cross River state.

The genius constructed the plant with locally sourced materials. It was gathered that the hydro-electric plant would convert the kinetic energy of flowing stream water into electric energy.

"When the turbine spins so does the electromagnetic field convert this mechanical energy into electric energy" he said and continue, "the flow rate of the stream water is low, because it’s not a dam or water fall, this is a small stream with low flowing water, Yet I was able to convert it to bring Pressure and fall like a dam."

This is nice.

No matter how crude it looks like, we should in our little ways encourage our local talents.

We don't have a culture of respect and encouragement of local talent. All we do is celebrate and encourage corruption, polithiefcians, ethnic and religious bigotry.

Watch as this huge talent will be taken by people who cherish his worth.

Weldone Mr. Augustine, I am proud of you.

He probably constructed that to power a few appliances in his house but sadly that contraption can not power a rechargeable lamp

Unfortunately, this same guy will be seen as a threat by the long retinue of various self-serving, sit-tight, kleptomaniac 'rats' who're well-positioned along the Power Value Chain and eating fat at the expense of the average Nigerian.

Who does not know that public enterprises like NEPA, NITEL, Nigeria Airways were damaged, destroyed and eaten, through and through, into their moribund and dysfunctional states by successive generations of this well-trained, evil-intentioned 'lootocratic' buffoons who always find ways to replicate and succeed themselves in office.

They will never find the need or any use for him instead they will choose to hire expatriates whose emoluments can still be the subject of various beneficial scams. Sponsored institutional and endemic corruption killed this country. The Political Ruling "Bourgeois" Class started it, they corrupted the various custodians and Realms of the Estate (Judiciary, Military, Press etc), by the time it got to the Public/Civil Service, it was GAME-OVER and we expected the Polity not to evolve and adapt to the paradigm shifts of the new oppressive times.

Now, when I see the various administrations make tougher demands of the masses like they have done since the days of Austerity Measures, Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) all the way up to the current Anti-Corruption drive being postulated, promulgated and pursued by overfed posturing polithiefcians who will usually skin the masses without the provision of any Support Structures like workable emolument packages, working amenities, social security benefits, various developmental catalysts etc; I look at them like madmen and jokers especially the insincere, half-baked BMC's who follow them upandan applauding them in their dance of shame!
