President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday summoned the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, over recent killings in Benue and other parts of the country, with a charge on him to tighten security across the country.

Idris, who spoke with State House correspondents after the closed-door meeting, said he updated the President on efforts made by the police towards ensuring law and order in various communities in the country.

Pointing out that he is duty bound to regularly brief the President on security developments in the country, he asserted that “currently Nigeria is well secured’’.
