Most of our stadia were built by government in recent times except for few...
Nothing historic about them....
Unlike foreign clubs and their stadium.....
Their names reflect the club's history....
Exception could be lekan salami stadium which was named after a prominent 3SC supporter....

The point that our stadiums are government built still don't calrify why many are named "some place township stadium". At least the Akwa Ibom government built a good edifice and named it Godswill Akpabio Stadium (AKA Nest of Champions). Not that I don't have my grouse with a governor appending his own name to a structure built with public funds, it is at least a step acceptable compared to being named the Uyo Township stadium. Makes it seem like some dirt patch out in the middle of Soweto!
