you do not need to install any app,once u view any status it is already on ur phone,, because u need to download it before u could view it,, check ur file explorer (I recommend ES)

Easier way:

Go to your file manager
Locate your "Whatsapp" folder
Press options and "show hidden files".
"Statuses" will appear. Everyone's status will already be saved there.

just enable viewing of hidden files/folders on your file manager. I use x-plore file manager.

Then go to the path : SD card/WhatsApp/Media/.Statuses

All I do is view the status I'd like to save and then go to my file manager, click option and show hidden files then I move to the whatsapp folder, go to media and then open statuses. I then select what media file I want saved and I move it to another folder .



NB: At the point of viewing the status, the file will only be saved in d status folder for 24hrs. However, moving to a separate folder will keep it till u delete
