The Premier League holders has officially announced the appoitment of a new Chief Executive-Guy Lawrence who was formerly the President and CEO of Rogers Communications, one of Canada’s largest communications and media outfit.

According to the club's official website, Lawrence Guy will start his position with the reigning Premier League champions at the start of February and is expected to report directly to the club’s Board of Directors and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the club, including the continuing development of our commercial activities in the UK and around the world, focusing on increasing club revenues.

Meanwhile, Chelsea football club-Chairman Bruce Buck spoke about the club's new appointment: ‘We look forward to Guy joining the club during an exciting period for Chelsea on and off the field. He will be working with the owner and the Board to increase our commercial revenues and maximise digital opportunities, identifying new ways to best serve our supporters here in the UK and further grow our international fan base.’

The Manchester born business mogul is understood to have also held several senior positions within Vodafone, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, including CEO of Vodafone UK.

Guy also has experience in sport, having been a director of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
