Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi has reportedly been retrieved from all Chinese theaters 2 weeks after it released in the country.

The long-awaited sequel to J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens makes the 2nd chapter in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars sequel trilogy and the 3rd overall installment in their new Star Wars series under the umbrella of Walt Disney Studio.

And as the film has proven successful, it also emerged one of the most isolating installments of the franchise

Not long after The Last Jedi was released to theaters in mid-December 2017, many moviegoers started laying discontent complain with Johnson’s movie.

While it’s arguable as how sophisticated the movie’s audience ratings are, it is no misery that theater attendance is down sharply compared to The Force Awakens.

Yet, that does not mean the movie was not a commercial victory. The Last Jedi rapidly became the highest-grossing film of 2017, outranking Bill Condon’s Beauty and the Beast (another Disney film), and it even managed to pass the coveted billion-dollar leverage in just over 2 weeks of release.

And while it goes on blasting past movies on the international chart, it is not holding up overseas. Few days after being dropped from 92% of theaters in China, The Last Jedi has now been retrieved from Chinese theaters totally...
