A Federal High Court Abuja presided by the Acting Chief Judge, Justice Adamu Abdul-Kafarati, Thursday dismissed an application challenging the designation of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization. Justice Kafarati said the application was unmeritorious, and accordingly was dismissed. More so, Justice Kafarati awarded N500,000 as fine against IPOB. Justice Kafarati had on September 20, made an ex parte order declaring IPOB as a terrorist organisation. The application filed by Ifeanyi Ejiofor on behalf of IPOB also challenged the proscription of the group by the Federal Government. Read the full story here. |
