The Super Eagles have remained static in the latest monthly FIFA Ranking of national teams released yesterday by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).

Compared to their position the previous month, the Super Eagles maintain their 51st position, while they are ninth in the continental ranking.


Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt, Morocco and Congo DR are the top five teams in Africa in that order.
Our three rivals in the group stage of Russia 2018 World Cup – Argentina, Croatia and Iceland – sit in the 4th, 15th and 20th place respectively in the updated ranking.

South Africa, Libya and Seychelles, Nigeria’s opponents in Group E of the 2019 African Nations Cup qualifiers, are in the 78th, 89th and 192nd position respectively.

There were no changes in the top five. Germany top the ranking, with Brazil, Portugal and Belgium completing the best five teams in the world.
