Looked very disposed from gating into the box and had some couple of moments of a rush of blood to the head, with one of them almost costing a penalty when he seemed to take down Ezequiel Schelotto.
He However, made a spectacular save in the first half to deny Tomer Hemed from close range as he got a big hand to one low down to him.
He Made another good stop to deny Schelotto from close range in the second half. Was busier than the scoreline suggests and it was a very good display from the number two keeper.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Not the most commanding performance that we have seen from him, but most of the problems in the first half came down the other side.

Got turned easily by Solly March at one point and looked a little jaded after a long game on Wednesday.

Andreas Christensen

A commanding first half as he gathered up a lot in the middle and made some important blocks. Looked to bring the ball out from the back more as well in the first half. Lost Hemed however to allow the striker have a good chance from close range.

Showed his bravery with a header from a free-kick, but had to come off with a head injury shortly after.

Antonio Rudiger

Brighton, especially Schelotto, had a lot of joy on his side of the pitch and that is where the danger came. He and Alonso struggled to really get a handle on it at times in the first half.

Not positionally his best game for the Blues and at times there were too bigger holes there for Brighton to exploit.



Victor Moses

Did well for the first goal and looked to get up and down the wing as much as possible. Was involved in a lot of good in the first half.

A bit quieter going forward in the second half, however did well defensively to help out Azpilicueta and provided some good outlet. Got his goal well at the end.

Marcos Alonso

Not a great opening 45 minutes from the wing-back. A lot of Brighton's good play came from his side and he struggled to make any impact going forward.

Again defensively got caught out by Schelotto as he the right back nipped in and had a big chance stopped by Caballero. Not a great day with rumours of Emerson Palmieri circiling.
