MTN the leading telecommunications company in Africa, the company reached another milestone recently, during it collaboration with its partner Ericsson they successfully tested their 5G capabilities in Johannesburg, South Africa. MTN and Ericsson trialled the first tests for lightning-fast 5G in Africa during the first week of 2018, with a live demonstration on Monday. This follows the signing by the two companies of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at AfricaCom 2017 to collaborate on the rollout of 5G technologies in South Africa, one of the first of its kind in Africa.
