2019: WHEN BUHARI SENT AMAECHI, EL-RUFAI TO MEET VETERAN NIGERIAN EDITORS By Ikenna Asomba


So, last Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari’s men ably led by Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, met with Veteran Editors of the Nigeria Media, in one of the choicest Hotels in Lagos? The meeting was fixed for 8.00pm, peak of Production?

The simple message from Amaechi and El-Rufai was “Selling President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term agenda to the Editors, thus seeking their support through ‘favourable’ Media Reportage ahead of the 2019 Presidential Elections.”

Well, this second term message did not go down well with the Editors, with many of them bluntly telling Buhari’s emissaries that “Buhari has failed Nigerians.”

Their ballistic questions terribly rattled Amaechi and El-Rufai, and the answers given by both men usually threw the meeting hall into a frenzy.

Amaechi, at some point was said to be shouting ORDER! ORDER! IT’S OKAY!

Well, I wish Buhari, the kind of ‘goodu-lucku’ he wished Tony Nwoye, the APC Governorship candidate, before the last November 18, 2017 Gubernatorial Election in our own Anambra State.
