The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has described the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, as a disgrace to democracy.
The reaction of the party was based on Dan-Ali’s position that the attack on two communities in Benue State that led to the death of over 73 persons and destruction of properties worth millions of Naira was as a result of the open grazing prohibition law enacted by the State Government.
The State Chairman of the APC, Abba Yaro, who also called for the resignation of Dan-Ali and an apology to the state in a statement on Saturday, said the comment of the Defence Minister was a flatly ridiculous absurdity and the highest level of public disgrace to democracy and the Nigerian populace.
