I'll be going straight to the point. So let's proceed to the main thing. GEN GEN!
I was able to rank for my targeted keyword because I wrote as if my article wasn't gonna show up on Google search result page.
Why did I say this, I've written hundreds of article and what I do is, I try to stuff keywords in my post. For example, if I'm targeting a long tail keyword "Davido latest music". This is what I write::

Recently the fia fia crooner who goes by the name, Davido just released a song which is Davido latest music. Davido latest music is titled Maga!. Maga is the lastest music by Davido. Davido latest music track is awesome and it is not like the usual pon pon sound used since 1960. There's no doubt that Davido latest music will be a hit song in 2018.

You see that I mentioned the keyword almost five times which is not good. You'll rank for a competitive keyword if you just write simply. YES! Simple.
Mention your targeted keyword only two times in your post/ article even if it is a 1000 words article. Just two times and it should be bold with the element <strong>Your Keyword</strong>.
I ranked for "OAU acceptance fee 2018" and some other keywords because I didn't mention my targeted keyword more than 2 times in my post.
Also, WordPress users should stop stuffing keywords in the tag section of their WordPress blog. 4 related keywords will do you good. I promise you!
