PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Estimating and establishing cost parameters and budgets for purchases
• Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
• Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers
• Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
• Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
• Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies
• Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
• Ensure that products and supplies are high quality
• Create and maintain inventory of all incoming and current supplies
• Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development
• Making professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Working with team members and the Procurement officer to complete duties as needed

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS

• OND/HND/BSC in any Engineering or Technical related field.
• Preference for at least 2-years experience as Procurement Assistant, Procurement officer or related position
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
is desirable.
• Cognate experience with vendor in engineering materials management is a MUST
• Solid knowledge of Engineering materials (Electrical,Mechanical, Plumbing and HVAC) is a MUST
