When you see people with lower Jamb score and O-level result get admission ahead of you, you just wonder what is the usefulness of Jamb if not to ensure admission is on merit

It is not just about the number of applicants but the process. With incessant strikes in different public universities and "admission runs" going on there, you can imagine the slow pace of things.

My question is: Should JAMB be a money making venture milking Nigerians- parents and children- to make huge remittances to the Federal Government? JAMB should be an agency providing competent educational services meant to make Nigerians enjoy this season of CHANGE

JAMB is milking prospective students. Universities are not giving admissions based on merit and based on JAMB Score and UTME. They give admissions based on unclear criteria and parimeters. Government should do something about the ugly situation. There are a lot of available spaces in their carrying capacities not filled. Let government investigate and do a thorough check and would be surprised at the rot in the university admissions in public universities in Nigeria. I now of a girl that got 240 in JAMB and 61 in UTME and very good 9 Credits, and no admission up till now, in a public university. Imagine

A level would be best. Plus admission test/interview for the most competitive courses by the University free of charge. A level would be a lifelong certificate. Not like the yearly Jamboree of Jamb.
A level can also become minimum requirement for police recruitment, peace corps, etc. They can introduce A level subjects like criminal justice and security studies for such purpose. We are just not innovative enough.
Exactly! They should use O'level and exam from the school this will give one the opportunity to choose even five school at once, not jamb that will restrict one to only two universities & leave him/her frustrated in the end
