Globacom Nigeria popularly know as glo has slashed down all data packages by 50% without warning. Glo recently pronounced itself as the grandmaster of data as it offered more than double data packages than it’s rivals. We covered this unbelievable data offer Glo Unfair Data Advantage and questioned it’s sustainability. It seems that it wasn’t sustainable after all. We reached Globacom customer care to get more information on the sudden change but no answer was given.

Glo Nigeria does not have the reputation for the best data service in Nigeria however, their unfair data advantage kept them competitive. And I must say, their 4G service in Port Harcourt Nigeria has been superb but the 3G is quite poor. The second part of this new move is the ‘without warning’. Of course, the unfair data advantage is a promo and companies can withdraw it without warning. Nevertheless, the implication could mean glo relinquishing the lead in gsm data sector....
