U.S. stocks finished off one of its best years in a long time

The Dow Jones industrial average shot up by 25%, the S&P 500 surged by 19% and the tech Nasdaq index outshined them with all with a stunning 28% gain. The Dow Jones getting even closer to 25,000 and making this year its best since 2013.

Rising demand for jet sales pushed Boeing stock (89.43%) to the top of the Dow Jones Industrial Average in 2017, and record cash flow to fuel projects, sustain dividends and buy back shares could give it another bumper year. Boeing has increased its free cash flow from $1.83 billion in 2010 to an estimated $10.5 billion in 2017. Boeing had 912 net orders for the year 2018, valued at $134.8 billion at list prices, from 71 customers.

Booming economy and phenomenal financial performance pushed the Caterpillar stock price up 69.92% in 2017. Third quarter operating profit was up 1.1 billion USD (227%). This recovery was mainly supported by a strong sales volume of more than 700 million USD and increased prices which accounted for 343 million USD. Furthermore, the company mentioned growth in all regions, outperforming North America sales and a strong performance in China. On a full-year basis, we see that all key segments are showing tremendous sales growth with more than 30% growth in Caterpillar resource segment.
