Ever since the emergence of the newly elected NANS Zone ‘B’ Officials corrosively led by Comr. Godson Okereke popularly known as Aluta Bishop, NANS has been at the forefront of students struggle and has also persistently called on the Government to pay constant and undivided attention to education.

The Director of Special Duties Comr. Arigbe Victor yesterday 29th January, in an inspection and investigative tour of the “phased out” College of Education, Ekiadolor Benin City, acknowledged the imbroglio that has characterised the institution.

During the inspection, the Director of Special Duties held a meeting with the Dean of Students, the Chairman COEASU, and the Chairman SSUCOEN. During the meeting, it was discovered that the Institution is neither a College nor a University as it stands, because the law establishing it as a College has been repealed since 2014 with the upgraded status of a University an illusion. It was also discovered
that the Institution has not admitted students for the past three academic sessions thereby phasing out the institution.
