The Federal Universities have gotten the clear message that as private universities are turning out high numbers of First class which is actually supposed to be normal then in the next few years graduates of public universities might find it hard to compete with them since majority graduate without a First. The UI of today is aiming to get her First and 2:1 degrees to be 70% of the total graduating class in the next few years just as it is in most UK universities.
However state universities don't seem to get the memo, they still keep cutting people down from getting their deserved degrees. OOU, Ogun State Delsu and Abia State University one of the major culprits.
