Rice is an increasingly important crop in Nigeria, it's profitable but require expertise and capital like every other farm ventures. The greatest challenge in Nigeria as regards rice production is birds that can eat up to 80% of the produce in few days despite this challenge adequate attention and proper management guarantee success and profit. Igbemo-Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government, Ekiti state is synonymous with rice production and for many years several tonnes of paddy rice has been produced becoming major source of income for the town dwellers. As we are preparing for this year's cultivation, Igbemo(Ekiti) plantainville cooperative multipurpose society is inviting interested people to invest in this year Igbemo upland rice production. last year we produced 8 tonns of milled rice with 55% return on investment within 6 months, our target is to produce at least 24 tonns of milled rice this year.

Production cost of an acre which is the minimum area/investment an intending investor can subscribe in the project is #90,000.00 while the return on invest is #50,000 therefore investors get #140,000.00 return on #90,000.00 investment. The minimum area is an acre while investors can go for as much as the can afford on first come first serve basis. 40 hectares (100 acres) is earmarked for the project.
