5 Governors Who May Not Return To Power In 2019

As the race for the 2019 general elections moves nearer, a few governors who are serving their first term in control are looking forward towards holding their positions as governors. While a few governors are very sure persuading the electorates to return them to power in 2019, others may find it very tough to persuade the electorates to return them back to power. The following are 5 state governors who may not hold their seats in 2019

1. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue The herdsmen-farmers clash in Benue and the rising insecurity is making Governor Samuel Ortom's odds of holding power in 2019 look slim. His inabilty to take the Issue Of Herdsmen-Farmers clashes seriously earlier Led to a popular belief of him been a weak governor. The issue of unpaid salaries is also a major factor that can spur Ortom’s 2019 chances. According to Daily Trust, “Feelers are rife that Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, the PDP candidate who lost to Ortom in 2015 would make a big comeback to the political scene. Also, Dr. Steve Wande, the proprietor of First Fertility Hospital in Makurdi, is speculated to be rooting for the governorship position under the PDP alongside Tarzoor. The body language of Engr. Felix Atume, a PDP gubernatorial aspirant in 2015 general elections, suggests at the moment that he would still dive into the political terrain.”

2. Aminu Tambuwal Of Sokoto State
Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has excellent perfomance in his three years in office however as indicated by report, he may confront firm rivalry from other solid politicians if he decides to re contest in 2019. It is being reported that Senator Abdallah Wali who challenged against Tambuwal in 2015 and furthermore in 2003 will mount a solid Bid in 2019.

3. Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong has finished various projects in Plateau in spite of that, he has come under serious criticism from the Peoples Democratic Party which asserted he has not begun any serious project yet. Legislators who are eyeing the governorship position in 2019 are: Sen. Jeremiah Useni, Sen. Victor Lar, Eng. Jimmy Cheto and Hon. Kemi Nshe

4. Governor Aminu Masari
Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari’s biggest threat to his gubernatorial ambition in 2019 is seemingly going to come from his own party, the APC due to the splinter group called the APC-Akida comprising people like MT Liman, Sadiq Yaradua, Sada Ilu and Usman Bugaje. Although the governor has a firm grip of the state, his inability to manage intra-party trouble may jeopardise his chances.

5. Governor yahya bello
Kogi Governor Yahya Bello moved toward becoming representative after the passing of ex Governor Audu Abubakar of Kogi during the state gubernatorial race. His popularity has however dwindled particularly because of the issue of unpaid salaries. The governor’s decision to support the establishment of colony in the state has also affected his popularity especially among critics.

I foresee landslide victory for those governors. Nigeria people are good in theory than practical. APC is only partly on ground in those places so what they need is to win primaries which is very easy for governors.

I agree with you, Buhari is fighting Ortom's bid to stop the Fulani herdsmen.

Gov Ortom of Benue State says in video below, the killers are known and says clearly that the Nigerian govt is involved in these killings. He explained that he has the names of the killers. Ortom went further to say that these are attacks are geared towards taking over the land. He also asked how come nobody can arrest these killers?

you must be an Igbo man that doesn't vote but is the biggest critic of the winner of an election that the outcome might ve been different if only the Igbo man had queued for few hours to simply cast his vote.
