This is very very inaccurate.
Hausa is not the 11th most spoken language in the world. Lies.

So you think All of Niger belongs to Hausa by assigning all the population to them?

So where would you put Zarma-Songhai (25%), Arabic, Tamasheq, Fulfulde? ohh and Kanuri.

Mind you,, There is no way there are 85 million Hausa speakers in Nigeria.

Hausa people makes 53% of Niger Republic population. Bazabarmawa, Buzaye, Hillani da Bare'bari etc make the remaining percentage.

Only about 20% of Nigeriens are French literate but more than 80% of the population speaks hausa. Mind you in Niger hausa is the language its citizens use as bridge in communication with different tribes other than theirs

Nigeria is estimated to be 200million+ , given that northern Nigerian hold 60% of the population it will be right to say their are 120million+ hausa speakers or more in Nigeria alone. 95% Northern Nigeria speaks hausa and their are another 10% hausa speakers from southern Nigeria tribes igbos, Yoruba etc.

Hausa serves as the language of trade , Islam and language that united immigrants in many West African countries. Togo, Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, Gabon etc having millions of none hausa speakers. I estimate that to be 20million.

Their should be atleast 160milliom hausa speakers across the world. smiley I might be wrong but considering their are 120million Hausa speakers in Nigeria alone 17million hausa speakers in Niger Republic. my estimation isn't that ridiculous.

WOW! 150 million! grin

It's very likely that the figure for Hausa speakers
is near-absolute! Hausa is also an easy language
to understand if you are determined to learn it.

A good population census will help to resolve
this with a proper biometric database instead
of guestimates.

Will do more research on the post.
