The Senator representing Abia North in the national assembly, Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa has empowered selected women from his constituency.

The shocking items with which the lawmaker empowered the women included frying pan and gas bottles.

At an event to distribute the items were the supporters of the Senator, community Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It is hoped that with the items, the beneficiaries can atleast start the business of frying akara and other snacks and be saved from the hurdles of doing that with firewood.
The beneficiaries and others who graced at the event thanked the lawmaker for his thoughtfulness promising to return the favour in the 2019 general election.

Suanu’s Blog recalls that Senator Mao narrowly defeated former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu of the Peoples Progressive Alliance,PPA in the senatorial rerun election that sealed his mandate.

But could this be the best way a Senator earning millions of tax payers’ money can empower his people?
