Charles Taylor was not jailed by the US. The US has no jurisdiction over foreign countries
unless through illegal wars or if caught committing crimes inside the US.
Do your research and tell me just one, just one foreign leader or actor that have ever been jailed
by the US.
If those people have assets in the us they will have no other option but to attend court sessions and defend themselves. Otherwise it was a fruitful effort. But I know IPOB am sure those people will have property in the us

I knew you were an ignorant fellow. US have no jurisdiction over any foreign
leader unless through illegal wars. Now ask if your fellow delusional Ipob have
been promised a war against Nigeria?

The US has never tried nor jailed a foreign leader for alleged crimes in their
home countries. Whenever you think you found one just know that it a case of a loser
in war being punished for resisting invasion or foreign hegemony.

It is even more impossible with the dummy in the whitehouse who would rather commit
suicide than engage in war.

Now go back to google and do more research, just name 1 foreign politician that have ever
been jailed in the US because some delusional group brought a case against them.

There is no such law in the US mandating a foreigner to answer a court case for crimes
allegedly committed outside the US. The only body with such power is ICC which the US
does not subscribe to. Ipob are just wasting their time and enriching a smart lawyer.

The suit was filed based on two US’ statutes; the Alien Tort Claims Act (ATCA or ATS – the Alien Tort Statute) and the Torture Victims Protection Act (TVPA).
Both laws have extra-territorial reach, meaning they allow US federal courts to assert long-arm jurisdiction which extends beyond the borders of US...

I see this as an intelligent move. The objective is not to enforce laws or orders against the Nigerian government, for all I know they can all boycott any summon during trials as Nigeria has sovereignty. Rather the objective is to paint and demonise Nigeria before the nations of the world for future purposes.
Think of what happens if the Nigerian government boycotts or refuses to honor the US court, the media ofcourse would be set ablaze. Can you imagine the case where the US court indicts the Nigerian government of murder and genocide of its citizens and issues an arrest warrant to FBI on arrival into US of the accused persons? Thus compelling by diplomacy United Kingdom and other nations to extradite the accused persons to US on arrival into their respective countries.
There is an objective here. IPOB needs sympathy and support for what is to come. It would be impossibe for Britain to lay behind Nigeria when what is to come comes since she would like to protect her moral values along the rest of the nations who already has enormous sympathy for IPOB. IPOB is playing this game intellectually in preparation of what is to come. They are not stupid. Of course they know US can't enforce Nigeria. They have foreign advicers so if u think they are being foolish better have a rethink. I insist that something is to come and that's what IPOB has been preparing for. Remember, Lai Muhamed admitted some days ago that they know not what IPOB's next line of action brings.

This is not about jurisdiction of the US court, this is about judgement.

Getting a judgement against someone like Burutai in a US court has worlwide rammifications, this is the greatest nation in the world. For Burutai to be convicted in a US court of human rights abuse snd extrer-judicial murder might not have much of an impact in Nigeria. But outside Nigeria, it has massive impact snd Burutai might very unfortunate that the next government might even take that Judgement serious and take Burutai up on it, APC wont be in power forever.

A negative judgement agsinst any of these men will only boost IPOB's international image. This case has nothing to do with jurisdiction

If they refuse to appear in the US court, will the US judge order their arrest in Nigeria?
That will be contempt of court. The US will assume they're guilty and will confiscate all their properties and cash in the States.

The assets will be converted to cash and proceeds will be used to compensate the victims and their families.

They will also be banned from stepping their feet in America. IPOB will then use the verdict as a precedence when they get to the ICC.

These iPOBian amphibians won't kill me with their ignorance.

See what I found under TVPA:

Although both the TVPA and ATS may be used to pursue claims for torture and extrajudicial killing, they are distinct statutes with their own limitations. First, unlike the ATS, claims under the TVPA may only be brought against persons who acted under the actual or apparent authority of a foreign nation. Second, TVPA claimants must exhaust all “adequate and available” remedies in the country where the offense occurred, but it is not settled whether this same requirement applies to ATS claimants

http://iradvocates.org/about-torture-victims-prevention-act-tvpa

See what I found under the TATS

In 2004 the U.S. Supreme Court issued the first of two decisions that significantly limited the scope of lawsuits that could be brought under the ATCA. In Sosa v. Alvarez-Machain, the court held that the ATCA applies only to violations of international norms that are “specific, universal, and obligatory,” and it determined that general prohibitions against arbitrary arrest and detention did not meet that standard. And in 2013 the court ruled in Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum, regarding a foreign petroleum corporation’s alleged complicity in human rights abuses in Nigeria, that the ATCA generally does not apply to torts committed in foreign countries—though exceptions are possible in cases “where the claims touch and concern the territory of the United States” with “sufficient force.”

Your Nigerian government have already played the card you lots are screeching and the USA court rejected that argument. The case isn't something new, they've been filed it. It is now your media decided to report it.

However, the defence lawyers had in a counter motion asked the court to dismiss the suit based on “the act of state doctrine, lack of jurisdiction and sovereign immunity,” district court rejected.
