The Delta Sta.te Government has pledged to put all necessary facilities in place to make its tertiary institutions one of the best in the country.

The State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro made the pledge on Thursday, 8th February, 2018, at the presentation of a book written by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, at the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara.

Barr. Otuaro said the book entitled " The Power Of Your Mind ", was a fallout of the stakeholders meeting held last year against the spate of cultism in all levels of education in the State.

He said the book which will be part of the academic curriculum in tertiary institutions in Delta State was to inculcate the right morals into school children and urged them to uphold positive ideals that will catapult them to the pinnacle of their careers in life.

The Deputy Governor reminded the Rector of the school of the need to take proper analysis of the impact of the book on students life as against the vices many of them were into before now.

The Commissioner for Higher Education, Sir Jude Sinebe, described the induction and presentation of the book as timely and expressed hope that provision of basic tools for learning in all tertiary institutions will enable them perform optimally.

He added that no effort will be spared in raising of students that will be employable and job providers on graduation from tertiary institutions owned by the Delta State government.

The Rector of the polytechnic, Prof. Emmanuel Ogujor thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for timely and regular payments of salaries as well as all the development he has attracted to the school and assured him of the support of the institution in the promotion of the SMART agenda.

Prof. Ogujor outlined innovations in the school since his appointment last year to include internet facilities, improved power supply from generators, war against examination malpractices and academic excellence.

He appealed to the State Government to help complete the school's new auditorium, provide coaster buses to ease transportation challenge, build skills acquisition centre, recruitment of academic staff and accreditation of some courses.

Presenting the book, Pastor Jide Owoyemi of the Believers Love World said the power to succeed in life revolves round our thought and
recommended the book to students of tertiary institutions in Delta State, emphasizing it will be part of the General Studies 101 from the next academic session.

The President of the students Union government of the school, Comrade Evayabore Johnson commended Governor Okowa for his love for the education sector and appealed to him to assist in the reduction of school fees paid by Delta students in tertiary institutions in the State.

Highlight of the occasion was the distribution of copies of the book paid for by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Otu
